This last year Troy really struggled with major back pain. After many trips to Guatemala he went to the doctor because he could barely walk. They did an MRI and found out that he had 3 herniated discs in his back. So we tried 2 cortosone epidural treatments and they worked for a short time but the pain came back even worse. So he opted for surgery hoping that he would be one of the 70 percent that the surgery worked for. The kids rode to Utah with Troy's mom and dad and they took them to my parents home in Mt. Pleasant to spend the week with Grandma and Grandpa so that I could be at the hospital with Troy and take care of him. We missed the kids so much but it was the right decision.

After Troy got out of the hospital he did so well with his surgery. Very quickly we were able to see that it worked and his pain was relieved that he had been dealing with. He still had surgery pain but now that he has healed his back is feeling great. It's nice to have the old happy goofy Troy back and not the Troy that is in pain all the time.
